Abijah Isaac, a 20-year-old resident of Estate Sion Farm on St. Croix, turned himself in to the V.I. Police Department at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday after learning the police considered him a person of interest in a shooting that occurred Sunday in Castle Coakley, leaving three people injured.

Isaac, who at the time was out on bail after being arrested on Jan. 11 on a charge of second-degree burglary, was positively identified by witnesses as one of the people who opened fire in the community.

Bail for Isaac was set at $75,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.

In its news release announcing the arrest, VIPD said it appreciates community members who provided investigators information that helped with the investigation. Police urged anyone with information on the case to call 911, the Crime Tip Line at 340-778-4950 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
