Department of Public Works ALERT for Road Work (Submitted by DPW)

Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement announcing a $1.4 million grant from U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to the V.I. Department of Public Works (DPW) on St. John:

“I am happy to announce that FEMA has awarded a grant totaling $1,458,902.75. This much needed funding will go toward permanent repairs to roadways and other infrastructures under the V.I. Department of Public Works (DPW) jurisdiction on St. John that happened as a direct result of Hurricane Maria.

“We must be prepared and continue to build our resiliency against disaster. The funding provided by FEMA will provide DPW with the resources they need to help fulfill their mission in the event of future emergencies.”
