Virgin Islands Lottery

Caribbean Lottery and the VI Lottery are giving residents of the U.S. Virgin Islands a terrific opportunity to be part of one of the biggest and most famous New Year’s Eve celebrations.

One lucky Powerball winner, along with a guest of his/her choice, will receive an all-expense paid (including round trip transportation, accommodations and meals), three night/four day stay in New York City.  The lucky winner and guest will appear live on the famous “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” broadcast, with the famous “ball drop” live from New York’s Times Square via ABC television.

The winner will also be feted at a special opening night reception and receive two tickets to either a Broadway show or a cruise on the Hudson River.

Players must purchase $10 worth of Powerball tickets from Aug. 15 through Oct. 1 to receive an entry card to enter. The drawing for the winner will take place on Oct. 17.

“We’re excited to have our players return to New York City for this truly once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said May Scheve Reardon, Powerball Product Group chair and Missouri Lottery executive director.

Brian Gardine, site manager for the Caribbean Lottery, noted that there was great anticipation for the promotion in this the second year of participation for the USVI.

“We welcome this opportunity to showcase our valued partnership with VI Lottery and to give our players a chance to become the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year,” Gardine said.

This “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” is one of many entertainment properties developed by legendary producer and impresario, the late Dick Clark, once known as “America’s Oldest Teenager” for his promotion and hosting of the pop music chart show “American Bandstand.”
