Beach Advisory for August 15-19

The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) announces that the Beach Water Quality Monitoring Program, which evaluates weekly water quality at popular swimming beaches throughout the territory by sampling for enterococci bacteria and turbidity, which is a measure of water clarity, advises the public of the following:

District Public Schools Share Information About New School Year With Parents

The Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDOE) informs the community that the territory’s public schools will open for the 2016-17 School Year on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Individual schedules for ID photos, orientations, etc. are given for each school as it comes in.

UVI Orientation Activities and Events Planned for New Students

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) will welcome new and transfer students with a week of orientation activities beginning Sunday, Aug. 14, on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix, and Monday, Aug. 15, on the St. Thomas Campus.
