Bernard A. Wheatley, CEO of Schneider Regional Medical Center (SRMC), has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2016 list of “50 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know.”

Association for Rescue at Sea Gives Lifesaving Award to Capt. Anne Allard

C-PORT (Conference of Professional Operators for Response Towing) and AFRAS (Association for Rescue at Sea) presented its distinguished lifesaving award at the 29th C-PORT Conference. Dana Goward, SES, USCG (retired), presented the award to Capt. Anne Allard, Sea Tow U.S. Virgin Islands.

Marcus Norkaitis Offered $300,000 Scholarship to Attend U.S. Coast Guard Academy

Marcus Norkaitis has been offered a four-year scholarship to the United States Coast Guard Academy (CGA). Norkaitis was one of over 2,200 students to have applied for an appointment to the CGA, one of five federal service academies. Norkaitis’ attends high school at the Peter Gruber International Academy.

STT-STJ AG FAIR -- on St. Thomas, connecting farmers and the fruits of their labors with the
Public. Bordeaux Farms Pavillion provided the venue, although the traditional host, University of the Virgin Islands, is eager for a reunion.
The AG FAIR is an opportunity for shoppers to pick up meats and veggies for the Thanksgiving table. Chef Ashley Allen staged a turkey carving demonstration, followed by a turkey tasting.
An appreciative crowd formed an audience for a dance troupe and tips on composting, plus a contest to see who could quickly light a coalpot.
