The Virgin Islands Department of Education’s St. Thomas-St. John District Office of the Insular Superintendent notifies parents of the early dismissal of all public schools on Thursday, May 26. Dismissals will take place three hours before normal release times.
University of the Virgin Islands alumni and friends are being asked to once again lend support to the annual UVI telephone fundraising drive to support academic scholarships for students in need. This year’s telephone fundraising is unique as it is campus-based and is the first student-run call center.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) has announced CLEP exam dates for the Spring 2016 semester. The College Level Exam Program (CLEP) is a computer-based exam taken by college students with previous knowledge of the subject matter and is taken in lieu of college courses.
Senate Vice President Myron D. Jackson, chairperson of the Committee on Culture, Historic Preservation and Aging hosted a meeting in collaboration with the Committee on Sports, Parks and Recreation with representatives from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games on Friday at the Capitol Building. The purpose was to meet with visiting Japanese and Virgin Islands Olympic officials to consider the participation of the U.S. Virgin Islands in next year’s Tokyo Olympics, the Paralympic Games and the Olympic Town Host Program.
