St. Thomas-St. John District Schools to Have Early Dismissals May 26

The Virgin Islands Department of Education’s St. Thomas-St. John District Office of the Insular Superintendent notifies parents of the early dismissal of all public schools on Thursday, May 26. Dismissals will take place three hours before normal release times.

UVI Urges Incoming Students to Register for Placement Exams

High School seniors who are interested in attending the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) for the fall 2016 semester are encouraged to register early for the placement exam. Students with SAT or ACT scores below the UVI guidelines are required to take the placement exam, which evaluates proficiency levels.

Teachers Shut Down St. Thomas Schools Over Retro Pay, School Conditions

St. Thomas-St. John schools were dismissed early, classes canceled and students sent home Tuesday afternoon as teachers protested for retroactive pay and better conditions in the schools.

UVI Schedules Dates for Spring CLEP Exams

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) has announced CLEP exam dates for the Spring 2016 semester. The College Level Exam Program (CLEP) is a computer-based exam taken by college students with previous knowledge of the subject matter and is taken in lieu of college courses.
