VING to Conduct Symposiums on Officer Career Opportunities

The Virgin Islands National Guard (VING) will conduct two symposiums throughout the territory to share information on careers for military officers.

VING Bids Farewell to CSM English-Edwards After 40 Years of Military Service

Adjutant General for the Virgin Islands National Guard (VING) Brigadier General (VI) Deborah Y. Howell will host a retirement ceremony for her State Command Sgt. Maj. Delores English-Edwards after 40 years of military service. The event will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 13.

V.I. Graduate Returns to Share Naval Academy Experience

Virgin Islanders will learn about career opportunities in the United States Naval Academy (USNA) during Thanksgiving week across the territory. A former public school success, Midshipman Kobe A. Sutton, will share his military academy experience at forums and informal meetings with students, parents and educators.

ESGR Committee to Thank Service Members at U.S.V.I. Airports

In celebration of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Week, which is Aug. 21-27, the Virgin Islands ESGR Committee has scheduled two ceremonies at the both airports to recognize, celebrate and thank all service members and veterans who live in or enter the territory.

Virgin Islands National Guard (VING) units are conducting annual training at various sites across the territory from July through September.

VING Bids Farewell to Master Sgt. Blyden After 39 Years of Military Service

Brig. Gen. Deborah Y. Howell, adjutant general for VING, will host a retirement ceremony for Master Sgt. Delano L. Blyden after 39 years of military service. The event will take place at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 17, at the Sergeant First Class Leonard B. Francis Readiness Center.

Vigilant Guard 2017 Initial Planning Meeting Set for June 22, 23

Local, federal and military officials along with private sector representatives will convene for two days to begin the year-long planning effort for Vigilant Guard, a national-level, full-scale emergency response exercise scheduled for May 2017. The exercise will test the territorial government’s ability to respond to a catastrophic event.

Command Sgt. Maj. Eugene Farrell Named Head of 210th Regiment, Regional Training Institute

Command Sgt. Maj. Eugene Farrell assumed responsibility of the 210th Regiment, Regional Training Institute (RTI), Virgin Islands National Guard (VING) during a ceremony held June 4 at the VING's Estate Bethlehem Military Compound on St. Croix.

Farewell Ceremony Slated for 24 Deploying V.I. National Guardsmen

Twenty-four Virgin Islands Guardsmen will leave the territory next weekend for deployment overseas. Pre-deployment training and a farewell ceremony will occur on Jan. 16 and 17 on St. Thomas.
