Bill No. 33-0344 — An Act amending Title 17, chapter 11, section 131 of the Virgin Islands Code, to allow the Department of Education to hire, on a contractual basis, licensed electricians, plumbers, mechanics, masons, cosmetologists, carpenters, drafters and any other licensed professionals that may be considered necessary to teach career and technical education courses to supplement the Career and Technical Education Center’s programs (Sponsored by Senator Dwayne M. Bill No. 33-0360 — An Act amending Title 17, Virgin Islands Code, chapter 5, adding a section 41g, implementing and setting the requirements for online learning (Sponsored by Senator Donna Frett-Gregory)

The transition process from classroom/in-person learning to distance learning
Positive outcomes and/or challenges the department experienced during the opening of School Year 2020/2021
Status on training for parents and students on the specified platform being used for the distance learning
How schools will facilitate assistance to students who are in the Career Technical Education track as well as English as a Second Language (ESL) students, and Individuals with Disabilities students
The new K3 classrooms for school year 2020/2021 in the St. Thomas/St. John District
Federal Funds expiring on September 30, 2020
Other matter(s) that may have impacted the Department of Education’s operations due to COVID-19.
