The Forum: Jane Bunnett & Maqueque

The Forum presents Jane Bunnett & Maqueque, an AfroCuban all woman group. Beforehand, from 7-8 p.m., in the Courtyard of Prior-Jollek Hall, the All Woman USVI Ensemble under the direction of Dionne Donadelle will perform. While enjoying the music, concert-goers can have small meals and desserts by Amalia Café. The female collective is led by veteran jazz icon, soprano saxophone player, flautist and composer Jane Bunnett of Canada. With five Juno awards, three Grammy nominations and an Officer of the Order of Canada (Canada’s highest civilian award), Bunnett decided to dedicate herself to taking Maqueque to the world. Ticket costs: adults $25, teachers $10, students $5 and children under 10 years-old are free, but they need a ticket to secure a seat. Ticket Sale Locations: Frenchtown Deli, The Medicine Shoppe, Antilles Administrative Building and Chelsea’s Drugstore.
