VIPD Makes Arrest in Savanero Restaurant Shooting

On Dec. 20, police apprehended Miguel Brooks, 30, on St. Thomas in connection with a shooting at the Savanero Restaurant on March 10, 2024, the V.I. Police Department announced.

Brooks is charged with first-degree assault, third-degree assault, and assault with a deadly weapon. His bail is set at $100,000, according to the police report.

During the March incident, an armed suspect approached the victim and his girlfriend, firing multiple rounds at the victim. Despite his injuries, the victim sought and received medical treatment at Roy L. Schneider Regional Medical Center, the police report stated.
