Cardinal Theophilus Blackman was born in Bank Hall, St. Michael Barbados on Oct. 17th, 1930. Cardinal passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024 at his residence. He was the son of the late Gladys and Theophilus Dowrich.
The Funeral Services Celebrating his life will be held on Friday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. in St. Andrews Episcopal Church. The Viewing will be held the morning of the Services from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Interment will be Private.
Cardinal is survived by his wife Eldorna Forde Blackman, his long-time partner, Penelope Sandiford and his seven children: Olivia Blackman Prescod of Barbados, Cyrillene Felix of New York, Pamela Alleyne of Massachusetts, Andrea Morris of New York, Neil Forde Blackman of Florida, Anthony Blackman of Nevada and Sherill Blackman of New Jersey, The late Cardinal Jr. Brathwaite; Stepson, Anderson Sandiford; Grand Children: Sean Bynoe, Terry Prescod, Latonia Johnson, Leron Prescod, Xavere Felix, Siobhan Panias, Shanel Anderson, Sade Benjamin, Neil Brathwaite, Nelson and Leon Archibald, Janea Azaryoun, Jahmeyel and Cydonah Blackman, Natalie Blackman Sargeant; Sisters: Usil Skinner, Velda Cutting and Verdene Maynard of the USA, The late Ruby Whitehall of Barbados; Brothers: Geoffrey Dowrich of the USA, The late Steve and Winston Dowrich of Canada; Nieces: The Late Maureen Blackman-Miller of USA, Ena Thompson of Barbados, Sherry Maynard of New York, Joanne Went, Trina Searles, Michele Dowrich, Michael Dowrich of Canada, Tonia Warner -Dowrich of New York, Janelle Goodman USA; Nephews: David Cutting of Georgia, Mark Cutting of New York, Wendel Dave Dowrich of New York, Winston Dowrich Jr. of Barbados, Gregory Dowrich of Florida, Shawn Warner-Dowrich of New York, Cavour Maynard USA, Sylvester Maynard Barbados; Sister in-Law: Sonia Yarde Dowrich of Canada, Maria Warner-Dowrich of New York; Son in Laws: DeCoursey Alleyne and John Morris; Daughters in Laws: Starr Blackman and Pauline Archibald
