RapierMed, a global investment firm established in the U.S. Virgin Islands, invites high school students from the Virgin Islands who are interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to apply for the Blake and Karen Space Camp Scholarship by Feb. 21.
This scholarship covers the cost of attending Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The program offers an immersive experience featuring space, aviation, and defense exhibits. With over 32 years in operation and more than 700,000 students hosted, Space Camp helps students develop decision-making, collaboration, and leadership skills while following a training framework modeled after NASA astronaut programs.
“Space Camp offers Virgin Islands youth a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage in hands-on, immersive learning in a field that becomes increasingly vital with each advancement in space exploration,” said Robert Goldsmith, vice president of RapierMed.
To be eligible, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.2, submit one letter of recommendation, a 500-750 word personal statement, and a resume through this application portal.
For any questions, Allena Clifford, Business Support Manager at RapierMed, can be reached at allena@rapiermed.com.
“RapierMed is proud to support this initiative, opening doors for the territory’s brightest minds. We encourage all high school students across the Virgin Islands to apply,” said Goldsmith.
