It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Gwendolyn C. Blake, on Feb 17.

Gwendolyn is preceded in death by her parents Charles E. Clarke, Sylvia E. Clarke, Audrey V. Clarke; brother Roy H. Clarke; sister, LaVerne C. Russell; former husband Thomas R. Blake, Sr.

Left to mourn are brothers, Kenneth C. Clarke (Julie Clarke), Raymond E. Clarke (Gloria Clarke), Winifred Mae Hardy, Audrey L. Johnson, William D. Clarke (MaryAnn Clarke); her children, Myrilin B. Daniel, Thomas R. Blake, Jr., Sylvia N. Blake, Ronald E. Blake; grandchildren, Gwendolyn I. Roebuck, Lauren B. M. Spencer, Shenelle M. Roebuck, Fernando R. Roebuck, Thomas J. Blake, TaMicah J. Sweeney (Cecil Sweeney), Thamoiyah B. Luther, Maya N. Blake, Tashiim J. Blake, Evan E. Blake, Dylan A. Blake; great-grandchildren, Naelani Roebuck, Xion J. Blake, Yahmeel J. Blake, Zariel Morales, Qiarrah E. Blake, Kailee A. Luther, Leonidas K. Luther, Negus A. Blake, Kionee A. Luther, Journee E. Thomas, Amiyah C.  Sweeney; brother-in-law, Harold Russell; sisters- in- law, Ann W. Clarke, Barbara Clarke; cousins, Claire Marshall, Charles Richards; daughters-in-law, Grace Ann Blake, Elisa Nicholson, Margaret Bruce, Jennifer Breu; special friend and sister, Honorable Kathleen Mackay; sisters and friends, Carmen Bastian and Linda Hill; many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention including the Clarke, Todmann, Richards, Plaskett, Calistro, Blake, Haynes and Duran families.

The Christian Burial of Gwendolyn C. Blake will be held on March 20 at Saint Patrick’s Church, Frederiksted, St. Croix. The viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at the Frederiksted Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that family and friends make donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (alzfdn.org). Please reference donations, “In the Honor of Gwendolyn C. Blake.”
