Principal Anique Elmes Matthew, Ph. D. is proud to extend colossal congratulations to our 6th graders, Josiah Benjamin and Anges Ramirez, winner and 3rd runner-up respectively in the Dr. Lezmore E. Emanuel essay contest in tribute to renown Virgin Islander J. Raymond Jones.

The 500+ word contest on Mr. Jones, produced by Senator Alma Francis Heyliger Radio 1000, is the third such event. The school is pleased to mention that Moravian School students have placed in the top three each year.
Dr. Matthew offers kudos to teachers, Ms. Lillian “Lillie” V. Moolenaar, for English-Language Arts, and Mr. Glenn “Kwabena” Davis for Virgin Islands History for their time during and after school. They guided the students through the research process, the importance of recognizing sources, and the value of appreciating those on whose shoulders they stand.
Principal Matthew affirms that the school’s motto, “God Steers Our Course,” motivates and inspires us to provide our students with a wholesome, high academic, cultural, and spiritual experience at Moravian School.
