Fire Service Lifts Burning Permit Ban in District

Effective immediately, the ban on burning permits has been lifted for the St. Thomas-St. John District. The ban was in effect given the temporary water supply shortages in the district, according to a press release issued on Wednesday by the V.I. Fire Service.
“With the water challenges now resolved for the St. Thomas-St. John district, the Fire Service is confident in lifting the burning permit ban. Residents can rest assured that the Fire Service has a constant water source in case of an emergency,” Daryl A. George, assistant director, said.
A ban was not in effect for the St. Croix district and there were no fire emergencies reported during the time of the ban.
