DOE to Host Summit for Parents of Special Education, English Language Learners

The Virgin Islands Department of Education – Office of School and Community Affairs, St. Thomas-St. John District; the Division of Special Education; and English Language Learners (ELL) and Intervention Services invite parents of students receiving special education or ELL services to a parent summit to be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 25, at the Curriculum Center. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the summit is free.

Topics of discussion will include home and school partnerships, school registration, and more. Local agencies catering to the needs of children and families will also be present to provide attendees with pertinent information. Translators will be available for each session. A complimentary lunch will be served.
