PROJECT SYNOPSIS: The University of the Virgin Islands seeks proposals from qualified food service providers to deliver comprehensive food services on its Albert A. Sheen campus. The selected provider will be responsible for managing and operating the main cafeteria, snack bar, and catering services to support the diverse dietary needs and preferences of students, faculty, staff, and guests. The goal is to enhance the overall dining experience through high-quality food, exceptional customer service, and adherence to health and safety standards.

SCOPE OF WORK: The food services RFP on the university campus encompasses comprehensive management and operational duties. The selected provider will operate and manage a full-service kitchen with one serving line and a snack bar located in the Student Center (Building N), utilizing all food preparation, serving, and storage spaces provided by the university. They will ensure compliance with health and safety standards while maintaining a professional and appealing presentation of all food items. The provider will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner for faculty, staff, students, and guests seven days a week for approximately 50 weeks per year, featuring diverse menu options that include vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices. All food served must meet specified U.S.D.A. grade standards for raw materials. Additionally, the provider will offer catering services for university events, such as receptions, banquets, conferences, and orientation programs, with flexible menus and pricing tailored to different events.

The provider will offer emergency food services, maintain a stockpile of non-perishable food, and accommodate students with scheduling conflicts at no extra cost. Compliance with University policies on signage, pricing, and staffing is required. Sustainable practices like waste reduction and local sourcing will be incorporated, along with sustainability promotions. High-quality, safe food, excellent customer service, and meeting sustainability targets are essential.
