At around 4 a.m. Tuesday detectives from the V.I. Police Department arrested 19-year-old Jared Dover of Tan Tan Terrace, on a warrant charging him with possession of ammunition.
On May 1, 2020, police investigated a shooting incident on Benny Benjamin Drive, where the gunshot victim was dropped off for treatment at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital by a private vehicle. Dover, the victim of the incident, was found in possession of a fully loaded firearm magazine.
On August 24, officers obtained an arrest warrant from the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands. Detectives subsequently located Dover in South Carolina and brought him back to the territory to face his charge.
Bail for Dover was set at $50,000. Unable to post bail, he was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending his advice of rights hearing.
