Crime of the Week: Homicide Tips Could Lead to Cash Rewards

The anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, seeks the public’s help to resolve two homicide cases that took place in the territory.

St. Croix: At about 7:47 p.m. July 21, 2019, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of shots fired on Queen Mary Highway in Estate Castle Coakley, in the vicinity of the American Red Cross . Officers responded and discovered an unresponsive black male individual with multiple gunshots wounds to the body. The victim was identified by family members as 28- year-old Rabbhi D. Mouqete. He succumbed to his injuries. The Criminal Investigations Bureau asked anyone with information about the crime to report what they know.

St. Thomas: At about 11:15 p.m. June 25, 2017, officers from the Richard N. Callwood Command traveled to the area of Estate Lerkenlund in response to a report of a gunshot victim. At the scene, officers observed an unresponsive black male with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds about his body. Emergency medical technicians concluded the victim did not have any vital signs; his next of kin identified him as 22-year-old Vascott David.
