STX Man Killed in Castle Coakley

A 28-year-old St. Croix man was shot and killed Sunday evening in Estate Castle Coakley, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The victim was identified by next of kin as Rabbhi D. Mouqette. It was the 12th homicide on St. Croix since the beginning of the year, the 22nd in the territory. (The Source does not include suicide or vehicular homicides in its count, as the police and other outlets do.)

According to the VIPD, at about 7:47 p.m. Sunday citizens called the 911 emergency center to report shots fired at Queen Mary Highway in Estate Castle Coakley in the vicinity of the American Red Cross. Officers responded and discovered an unresponsive black male individual with multiple gunshots wounds to the body.
