Free Workshop Will Teach Making of Vejigantes Masks

Sept. 23, 2005 – The St. Croix Landmarks Society is presenting Kenneth Melendez of Ponce, Puerto Rico who will teach a hands-on workshop on how to make Vejigantes masks. They are scary, brilliantly colored, papier-mache masks that represent the fun and mischief of Carnival and date back to the 1700's in Puerto Rico.
The workshops will be taught at the Whim Museum on:
Monday, Sept. 26, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Workshop cost is Free.
Space is limited and reservations are required.
