JAMIE DOBBS AND LOST HORIZON II WIN BVI

The 2000 B.V.I. Spring Regatta was held in perfect trade wind conditions and had boats as varied as 48 foot Swans and Melges 24's at the top of the fleet scoreboard. Consistent sailing by Antiguan racer Jamie Dobbs and his crew aboard the Olsen 30 Lost Horizon II led to the trophy as Champion Yacht.
Six races were held for racing classes over the three day regatta. Dobbs did not place first in fleet in any of the races, but unlike the daily race winners, his worst finish was a 12th.
Second place went to Heineken PR, a J-24 and Andiamo, a Swan 48 helmed by Mark Ploch was third.
Chris Rosenberg, winner of the first leg of the CORT series, and close competitor of Dobbs for the CORT series win said, "I can't think of a more deserving winner, Jamie is usually close to the top in almost every race he's in, it is about time he won." Dobbs and Lost Horizon have been a frequent visitor to the Virgin Islands, participating in St. Croix's Mumm's Cups as well as the Annual CORT Race series. In 1997 the team won the Traveller's Trophy for their combination of excellence and participation effort in regattas throughout the Carribean.
