AIRPORTS TO CLOSE AT 5 P.M., FERRIES TO STOP AT 4 P.M.

V.I. Port Authority spokeswoman Shirley L. Smith has reported the Cyril E. King and Henry E. Rohlsen Airports will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Alvis Christian of V.I. Territorial Emergency Management Agency headquarters on St. John said the last information received there was that the ferries between St. Thomas and St. John would make their last run at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
No one could be reached at Varlack Ventures or Transportation Services, the two companies providing ferry service between the two islands.
The territory's two airports will remain closed until further notice, Smith said.
Cape Air, American Airlines, Delta Airlines had suspended service as of early Wednesday. US Air and American Eagle were expected to shut down by 2 p.m.
Cape Air has cancelled flights for tomorrow.
Smith said the airports will remain closed until the Port Authority determines it's safe to resume operations
Travelers holding reservations on Delta for Thursday morning were told Delta would not be flying since they would be unable to get equipment into the territory on Wednesday night.
Smith asked the public to keep abreast of the situation by listening to their radios.
