Dec. 19, 2006 — A break in a 10-inch water mainline adjacent to the Sunny Isle Shopping Center Annex Tuesday afternoon has interrupted water service in the Estate Diamond area, according to the V.I. Water and Power Authority (WAPA).
The break affects customers in the Sunny Isle Annex, Sunny Isle Medical Center, Innovative Business Center, Department of Finance, Juan Luis Hospital, Peppertree Terrace, Island Center, Joseph James Terrace and surrounding areas, according to a WAPA news release.
The break occurred at 2:30 p.m., the news release said. Water-maintenance crews are working to repair the damage and anticipate service returning before 8 p.m. Tuesday.
"The authority apologizes for any inconvenience that may occur as a result of this water service interruption," the news release said.
