Feb. 11, 2008 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 17. This Sunday we will feature music by Van Morrison, Alice Stuart and the Formerlys, Jez Lowe, Dick Solberg, Kate Eggleston, Tom Rush and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "It's Too Late to Stop Now" by Van Morrison. This is a reissue of some live Van Morrison performances from 1972-1973 with the bonus of some added bonus tracks. Morrison is at the top of his game in these performances.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Freedom" a rocking roots-rock and blues effort from Alice Stuart and the Formerlys. It is an impressive CD.
We play new music from blues man Lurrie Bell, English folk artist Jez Lowe, Sugar Ray and the Bluetones and more.
We also play music from James Taylor, Martin Simpson, Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys, Tom Rush and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of Gene Pitney, roots-rocker Doyle Bramhall and contemporary folk-artist Kat Eggleston.
We include music from the Sun Mountain Fiddler Dick Solberg, who is appearing at numerous venues throughout the Virgin Islands. We also include music from Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, who will appear at this year's St. John Blues Festival.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker; Molly Molones; and by St. Thomas Radiology Associates.
