Veronique Ivinia Emmanuel, also known as "Mabebe," of Whim Gardens died on Sept. 13, at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. She was 91 years old.
She is survived by her daughters: Claina Letang, Isabelle Emmanuel and Jean Emmanuel Riviere; sons: Augustus, Albert, Knoltan, Lloyd, Sylvester and Flavian Emmanuel; grandchildren: Isaline Linton, Angus Serrant, Miguel Richards Sr., Jamila Riviere, Jerry Emmanuel, Rawn Emmanuel, Pheadra Emmanuel, Johnathan Emmanuel, Cassandra Emmanuel, Samira Emmanuel, K. Larry Emmanuel, Clint Emmanuel, Deanna Emmanuel, Berrony Emmanuel, Aaron Emmanuel, Kemon Emmanuel and Lenicia Emmanuel; and great-grandchildren: Jalen Linton Jno, Lewis, Miguel Richards Jr., Makyle Richards, Isaiah Emmanuel, Helliana Emmanuel, Michael Emmanuel, Jahari Lawrence and Shylo Lawrence.
She is also survived by daughters-in-law: Laurel, Joan, Patsy and Ingrid Emmanuel; son-in-law, Chris Riviere; sisters: Natilia and Leona Robin; brothers: Alleyne, Henderson and Rueben Robin; special niece, Ophelia Matthew; many nieces and nephews; the Abraham family; special friends: ICM sisters, Fr. Kenneth Gaddy, Fr. Patrick Lynch, Elsie Bennett and Christine Warner; as well as other relative and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
