John Joseph Anthony died on Wednesday, July 10, at the age of 81.
The first viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 19, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. The second viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by the service at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 20, at Cruz Bay Baptist Church. Interment will be at Calabash Boom Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vanessa Anthony.
He is survived by his wife: Hilda Anthony; sons: Kelvin Anthony of New York, Sylvester and Michael Anthony of Coral Bay, St. John; adopted son, Wayne Chesterfield of Florida; daughters: Voncelle and Marilyn Anthony of St. John, Aethra Edwards and Sandra Anthony Jackson of North Carolina; sisters: Margaret Sayers of St. John and Marjorie Santiago of New York; brother, Aubrey Anthony;
He is also survived by his brother-In-law, Louis Jackson; sister-in-law: Lyra Anthony, Joan Thomas, Ruth Vanterpool and Lillian Glaskett; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; nieces: Winfred Anthony-Todman of St. Thomas, Annette and Michelle Santiago of New York, and Francilia Williams of St. John; nephews: Delroy Anthony of St. John and Gerard Christopher of New York; and special close cousin, Ira Christian of St. John.
