The Disability Rights Center of the Virgin Islands (DRCVI), AARP, and the Virgin Islands Election System invite the public to a voting machine demonstration and voter registration day. DRCVI advocates and AARP representatives will provide information on disability services and resources for older adults.
- St. Croix: Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the Sunny Isles Shopping Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with live music by the 10 Sleepless Nights.
- St. Thomas: Thursday, Aug. 15, at Tutu Park Mall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with live music by the Quelbe Resurrection.
“Do not let anything stop you from voting! An informed VI makes a better VI! The Board of Elections will have staff at both events ready to show you how to use the voting machines and help first-time voters register. We will also have fun with great music: the Ten Sleepless Knights on St. Croix and the Qulebe Resurrection on St. Thomas,” said DRCVI Executive Director Angus Drigo.
More information about the events can be found here.
Residents will need to bring their Birth Certificate, Passport (United States),
Military Discharge form (DD214) or Naturalization Certificate to register to vote. More information can be found here.
If you need disability accommodations to participate, please call 340-772-1200 or email us at info@drcvi.org.
Editor’s Note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated DRCVI staff would assist with voting machines. That is the job of Elections staff. The story has been corrected.
