The Virgin Islands Tourism Department and the St. Thomas-St. John Chamber of Commerce are thrilled to announce the much-anticipated Miracle on Main Street and the Lighted Boat Parade for 2024. This celebrated holiday event is set to illuminate the Downtown Historic District of Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas on Friday, Dec. 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Main Street will transform into a pedestrian mall starting at noon, allowing shoppers to enjoy the holiday spirit early, according to the press release.
Downtown stores will offer many specials perfect for festive shopping, and attendees are encouraged to visit local restaurants for lunch, dinner, or refreshments. Emancipation Garden will come alive with vendors serving local food and drinks, accompanied by live music from local musicians and entertainers from 5.30 p.m. to 10 p.m., the press release stated.
A dedicated space will be provided for nonprofits and community organizations to set up tables for fundraising and promotions, the release stated.
The highlight of the evening, the Lighted Boat Parade, will kick off as usual. Boaters are encouraged to join the festivities by decorating their boats. This year’s parade departs from Crown Bay Marina at 6:30 p.m. and will float by the waterfront around 7:00 p.m. A cash prize is up for grabs, it said.
For those looking to navigate the festivities, a “Miracle on Main Street 2024” event map will be featured in the Virgin Islands Daily News on Friday, Dec 13., the release stated.
The event is made possible thanks to the generosity of the U.S Virgin Islands Tourism Department and local private sector sponsors. Businesses interested in participating as event sponsors are encouraged to contact Leslie Fisher at 340-514-5963, it said.
For more information regarding participation, the Chamber can be contacted at 340-776-0100.
