My Brother’s Workshop is pleased to announce the election of new leadership of its board of directors following the organization’s annual meeting in February.

Longtime board member Kirk Callwood has been elected President of the Board. He has served as a board member since April 2017 and, over the past several years, has helped strengthen the organization’s governance framework, financial oversight, and long-term sustainability, thereby positioning MBW for continued growth and measurable impact in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Callwood succeeds Ty Troutman, who has served as Board President since 2021 and has provided steadfast leadership and meaningful volunteer support within MBW’s Workshop program.
“It is both a privilege and a responsibility to serve as President of the Board for My Brother’s Workshop. MBW represents faith in action – meeting young people where they are and walking with them toward purpose, discipline, and opportunity.

When we invest in a young person’s transformation, we are influencing not just a moment in time, but the trajectory of families and future generations. I believe God has entrusted us with this mission, and I look forward to working alongside our board, staff, and supporters to steward it with excellence and humility,” says Callwood.
Allison O’Boyle was re-elected as the Vice President of the MBW Board. O’Boyle says, “I began serving My Brother’s Workshop in 2017 as a volunteer on the Marketing Committee. In 2020, I joined the Board as Marketing Committee Chair, and since 2023, I have served as Vice President of the Board on the Executive Committee. I feel deeply called to this work because I believe in the power of mentorship, opportunity, and community to transform lives. It is an honor to work alongside the dedicated MBW team to help create pathways for our Virgin Islands youth to grow, thrive, and realize the futures they deserve.”
Board member Christopher Finch has been elected to serve as the Treasurer of MBW. “My Brother’s Workshop is a very important youth organization filling a critical service vacancy. I have been fortunate to be on the board of directors for several years and am honored to move into a leadership position as Treasurer,” says Finch.

Anne Hemmert, MBW’s Secretary, has been re-elected for another term and states, “I’m honored to continue my role as MBW’s secretary. I love helping such an amazing organization with a strong leadership team and successful outcomes.”
Douglas Brady, Clifford Graham, Ty Troutman, Phil Payne, and Sharon Hupprich will serve as board members for another term, and Nathan DeWard will continue to serve as an ex officio member in his role as interim pastor at the St. Thomas Reformed Church.
“We are excited for the next chapter of the MBW organization, which takes our amazing staff, dedicated volunteers on our board and committees, and our generous community of supporters to allow MBW to continue to impact the lives of our youth positively,” said Jenny Hawkes, MBW Executive Director. “Thank you to everyone who has helped MBW grow for the last 19 years.”

MBW’s board members meet regularly regarding the organization’s budget, which is determined at the annual meeting, as well as other business matters. Members of the board of directors are elected to two-year terms, with officers elected annually at the annual meeting.
