A man was arrested Wednesday on St. Croix after police recovered a firearm, magazines and ammunition while executing search warrants tied to a November shooting investigation in Sunny Isle, the Virgin Islands Police Department reported.
The case stems from a Nov. 8, 2025, shooting reported about 2:58 a.m. near the Sunny Isle intersection on St. Croix. The 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of shots fired and later learned that a gunshot victim had arrived at the Juan F. Luis Hospital emergency room, according to the police report.
Patrol officers responding to the scene found multiple spent shell casings in the roadway, police said. The case was assigned to a detective with the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
Investigators later identified Rashoy Burke as a possible suspect in the shooting.
On Feb. 25, a Superior Court judge signed search warrants for Burke’s residence and vehicle. Members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau and Special Operations Bureau executed the warrants the morning of March 4, the police report stated.
Police said officers recovered a firearm, magazines and ammunition during the search and took Burke into custody.
Rashoy Burke, 20, was arrested on charges of carrying a firearm openly or concealed and possession or sale of ammunition, the report stated.
Bail was set at $50,000. Burke was booked and transported to the John Bell Adult Correction Facility pending an advice of rights hearing scheduled for Thursday in Superior Court, the report stated.
