Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. worked with DPNR and developers of Summer’s End to smooth out any permitting issues and prepare a modified, consolidated permit that could be passed by the Legislature at a moment’s notice.
Lime Out, the popular floating taco bar, has reopened in a new location in the harbor of Coral Bay, St. John. Co-owner Chelsea Baranowski said the Department of Planning and Natural Resources granted a provisional anchoring permit.
Asher Delmontt, of Lebo, Kansas, took first place Saturday in the 24th annual 8 Tuff Miles on St. John, covering the 8.3-mile course from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay in 52:34 minutes, a pace of 6:17 minutes per mile.
Work by siblings Avelino and Karen Samuel, who both struggle with the question of whether they are artists, is on display through Mar. 5 at the Bajo el Sol gallery on St. John.
The permit requested by Summer’s End Group, LLC to develop a marina and retail complex in Coral Bay, St. John has been deemed invalid by the Virgin Islands Legislature.
After more than eight hours of often tense testimony, the Senate Committee of the Whole told the developers of the proposed St. John Marina & the Yacht Club at Summer’s End to revise their permit application to reflect changes since the original permit was approved in 2014.
When more than 40 residents of Coral Bay gathered Tuesday night for a meeting hosted by the Coral Bay Community Council, they were given maps of their local area and then asked to break into small groups.
Fish started dying Thursday in Coral Bay, and it’s raising a lot of questions. So far, no one has any answers.
