Bryan to Move Territory to Safer-at-Home Level on Tuesday

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. expects to issue an executive order moving the V.I. to the Safer-at-Home phase of its COVID-19 strategy on Tuesday, including allowing dining in at restaurants, but the Stay-at-Home order will remain in effect through Labor Day.

Department of Health Announces V.I.’s 15th COVID-19 Fatality

The Virgin Islands Department of Health on Monday confirmed the territory’s 15th death related to COVID-19. The deceased is a 49-year-old male from St. Thomas, the department said in a news release.

USVI Registers 11th COVID-19 Death

According to figures released Sunday, the 11th COVID-19 death occurred on St. Thomas, giving the island six of the territory's 11 fatalities from the pandemic, with the other five on St. Croix.

Governor Orders Public Beaches Closed

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. announced that all public beaches in the territory were closed effective immediately in an effort to keep gatherings down and residents off the streets.
