C’sted Fort Closed This Week, Will Reopen with Refurbished Gate

“Long overdue” refurbishing of Fort Christiansvaern in Christiansted has caused the St. Croix landmark to be closed this week as the massive gate is put back in position.
Hurricanes Irma and Maria inflicted heavy damage on the cabins at the Virgin Islands Environmental Research Station at Lameshur Bay.

Swimmers Catch Favorable Currents in Beach-to-Beach Power Swim

Almost 200 swimmers leaped into the water at Maho Bay Sunday morning to participate in the Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park’s annual Beach-to-Beach Power Swim. The event raises funds to support marine research and programs, including the Virgin Islands National Park’s summer youth swim program.
