INDIA ASSOC. HAS FUN DAY AT THE BEACH

Store doors were closed in a neat row on Main Street and in Havensight Mall Sunday while East Indian merchants took advantage of the "no-ship-day" with a picnic hosted by the India Association of the Virgin Islands at Magens Bay Beach. Board members plan to make the day of fun and games an annual event.
Shed number three and an adjacent tent housed over 250 children and adults who enjoyed a magic show, kareoke singing, volleyball, football, home-cooked-Indian cuisine and the latest Hindi hit songs aired on Radio One WVWI's East Indian Special, hosted by Kanta Vasandmalani.
President Lal Sakhrani expressed that he was pleased with the day's events, which began at 11 a.m. and ended after 4 p.m.
