PUBLIC WORKS RESUMES GARBAGE COLLECTION

Public Works resumed house to house garbage collection in the Christiansted area on June 7. Acting Commissioner of Public Works, Harold G. Thompson, Jr., directed the move as part of the government's efforts to cut expenses. Public Works will resume garbage collection in the Frederiksted area on Monday, June 14.
The areas collected follow:
Communities: John F. Kennedy, Ralph de Chabert Housing Community, D. Hamilton Jackson, Basin Triangle, LBJ Gardens, Ruby Rouss Homes (Watergut Homes), Anna's Hope Village, Flamboyant and Ruby Homes for the Elderly, Estate La Grange, Golden Grove Park, Estate Concordia, Queen Louise Home for Children, Estate Two Brothers, Estate Campo Rico (one &
two), Estate Whim (partial), Estate Carlton, and Centerline route.
Schools: Pearl B. Larsen, Juanita Gardine, Seventh Day Adventist, Lew Muckle, Ricardo Richards, Elena Christian, Country Day, and Theodora Dunbavin.
Government Agencies and Departments: Property & Procurement, Justice, Finance, Labor, Charles Harwood Complex, Anna's Hope Detention Center, and Golden Grove Prison.
Other locations include: Boy Scouts Camp, Camp Arawak, American Red Cross, Richmond Post Office, Methodist Head Start, and St. Ann's Church.
Thompson said, "By putting our own garbage trucks back on the road, we are doing our part to implement cost saving measures thereby cutting down on expenses."
