HEALTH CENTER GETS FUNDS FOR LANDSCAPING

The Anti-Litter and Beautification Commission has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center for landscaping of the grounds of the facility.
Leon Santos of Santos Landscaping on St. John will carry out the beautification project, according to a release from the clinic. Plans call for placement of plants, palm trees and shrubs, with plantings to spell out the initials of the clinic's proper name, MKSCHC, at the center entrance.
"We are excited about the improvements to the grounds," center administrator Erica McDonald said. "I want the St. John community to be proud of the way their health-care facility looks."
