WAPA HAS NEW CFO

Oct. 16, 2001 – The V. I. Water and Power Authority announced Tuesday the appointment of Robert J. Vodzack as Chief Financial Officer.
Vodzack, from Marysville, Pa. is an innovative financial executive with a strong background in the energy field, Joseph R. Thomas Jr., WAPA executive director said. Vodzack's experience includes Controller for the Northeast operations of Sithe Energies, Inc. and Mid-Atlantic operations of Reliant Energy, Inc. where he managed capital budgets of more than $600 million.
As Chief Financial Officer, Vodzack will spearhead WAPA's Finance Division, overseeing budgeting, cash management, pricing and rates, risk management, insurance and information technology.
The position has been vacant for several months, since Terry Drake left earlier this year, Patricia Blake Simmonds, WAPA public information officer said. Vodzack started the new post Monday.
Vodzack holds a master's degree in Finance and Business Administration from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a certified public accountant (CPA), and is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Executives Networking Group.
