CALYPSO SHOW TO BENEFIT PAN DRAGONS

Nov. 15, 2001 – St. Johnians, kick up your heels or tap your feet, dance up a storm or just nod your head in time to the music. But be sure to come to the calypso show at Westin St. John at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25.
St. Thomians, come on over: There'll be shuttle service from the ferry to the Westin.
The Trinidad Benefit Calypso Show is being held to raise funds to send Love City Pan Dragons and Baby Dragons Youth Steel Orchestras members to Trinidad Carnival 2002. The Pan Dragons are partially supported by a grant from the V.I. Council on the Arts.
Irvin "Brownie" Brown will be on stage, so there'll be plenty to listen to when the music's not playing.
So many musicians will be performing, attendees may think they're at a Caribbean carnival. Performers include: Singing Sandra and Black Stalin, both from Trinidad; De Hunter from Dominica; King Whadablee and Calypso Sis from St. Thomas; Imaginations Brass; Charlotte Amalie High School Shining Stars; and, of course, both St. John Pan Dragon groups.
Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door, $8 for children under 12. They're available at Connections, Courtesy Car Rental, Mooie's Bar and St. John Drug Center in Cruz Bay; Percy's Bus Stop and International Records and Tapes in St. Thomas; or from any Pan Dragon parent.
There'll be a door raffle for a weekend villa stay at Westin Vacation Club.
