'GREAT PLACES IN THE CARIBBEAN' TO BE DISCUSSED

March 17, 2002 – Alec Sanguinetti, deputy director general of the Caribbean Hotel Association, will address a general membership meeting of the St. Thomas-St. John Hotel Association on Wednesday, March 20, at 5:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Grand Beach Resort.
Sanguinetti will speak on the regional marketing campaign, "Great Places in the Caribbean," and Ivette Martinez, CHA membership director, will provide an update on membership programs.
There will be a mini-trade show during the membership meeting. Hoteliers can view the latest products and services available from member businesses.
Local association president Jayne Hillner said in a release, "We invited CHA to our general membership meeting because we feel it is important for our members to know how we are spending their dollars." The St. Thomas-St. John association was the first in the region to formally back the regional plan; they contributed $25,000 in cash and $105,000 in room night for the auction site, which raises money for the regional campaign.
