CFVI AWARDS FOR SIGNIFICANT CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

June 7, 2002 – The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) announces the Silver Bells and Cockleshells Awards to recognize exemplary programs or projects that are making a significant or lasting impact on the lives of children and families in the territory.
Individuals, civic, grass roots and/or non-profit groups are invited to submit nominations for creative, innovative and effective programs or projects. Nominated programs or projects must already be in place, and serving to promote the well-being of children and families in the Territory.
Any individual, group or organization may self-nominate or propose others for consideration. Nominations must be submitted on official CFVI nomination forms which are available at the Community Foundation's office on Dronningens Gade or by calling CFVI at 774-6031. (Forms may be duplicated as needed.)
Selected programs, projects or individuals will receive monetary awards at a special recognition ceremony in the fall, and will be highlighted in the "USVI Kids Count" data book for 2002.
Deadline for submission of completed nominations is June 21, 2002.
