June 12, 2002 – The University of the Virgin Islands board of trustees will meet at 8 a.m. Monday, June 17, in room 207 of the Sports and Fitness Center on the St. Thomas campus.
The meeting will convene with regular session agenda items, beginning with the president's report, which will include highlights of major university accomplishments since the previous Board meeting.
The board will consider resolutions for approval from the academic and student affairs committee to establish an education specialist Degree in school psychology (Ed.S.). The Ed.S. degree, a collaborative effort between UVI and the V.I. Education Department, is designed for educators who are teachers, administrators, psychologists and therapists.
Also seeking board approval are the development committee's resolution to form a "Council of Friends," and a finance committee resolution concerning financial statement reporting for the University.
The board will hear reports from other committees, including the building and grounds committee.
UVI's board of trustees last met on Feb. 23 on the St. Croix campus. Dr. Auguste E. Rimpel Jr. is chairman of the board.
