SUMMER SCIENCE ACADEMY TO SHOWCASE POSTERS

July 16, 2002 – Fifty high school students and recent graduates who have been exploring the world of science, and particularly the science of the Virgin Islands, this summer are ready to "graduate."
As participants in the Senior Academy on St. Thomas portion of the University of the Virgin Islands Summer Science Enrichment Academy, they've spent six weeks with career sessions, hands-on technology, classroom and laboratory sessions on biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics, and field trips across the Virgin Islands.
Now they're ready to show family, friends and interested public what they've learned, at a closing ceremony, research poster presentation and reception at the UVI Sports and Fitness Center, 2nd floor, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 25.
