SEABORNE ADDING SERVICE TO OLD SAN JUAN

Sept. 11, 2002 – Seaborne Airlines has added a new mid-day flight from St. Thomas to Old San Juan, and on Oct. 4 it will begin flying between St. Croix and Old San Juan.
"We are growing," said Omer ErSelcuk, Seaborne's chief marketing officer.
The flight added last week gives Seaborne passengers three options each way traveling between St. Thomas and Old San Juan: Flights depart St. Thomas at 7:30 a.m., noon and 3:30 p.m. They leave Old San Juan at 8:45 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.
ErSelcuk said times are not finalized for the flights between St. Croix and Old San Juan, but they will be during the middle of the day.
Seaborne has a special introductory round-trip price of $99 for the mid-day flight between St. Thomas and Old San Juan that also will apply to the coming St. Croix flight. ErSelcuk said that until the St. Croix-Old San Juan flight is in operation, St. Croix passengers can connect to St. Thomas for the same price.
Regular Seaborne airfares to Old San Juan run between $135 and $155 round trip.
Seaborne's flights to Old San Juan arrive at Pier 7, which is within walking distance of the city's attractions and the cruise ship pier. A cab ride to Luis Munoz International Airport for a connecting flight to the mainland or elsewhere takes up to 20 minutes.
ErSelcuk said Seaborne can arrange for a taxi to meet passengers if they need to transfer to the airport, keep medical appointments or get to areas such as the Plaza Las Americas mall. And, he said, the company will arrange with Avis Rent A Car to pick anyone at Pier 7 who books a rental car.
ErSelcuk also announced a new $75 round-trip weekend fare between St. Thomas and St. Croix and a one-way fare of $45. Ask for the special "W" fare when booking to get these rates, which are available for all weekend flights.
The round-trip $85 SeaSaver fare is available on weekdays between St. Thomas and St. Croix on flights that leave either island between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
"The morning and late afternoon flights are reserved for business people," ErSelcuk said. Regular fares between St. Thomas and St. Croix run between $85 and $130 Members of Seaborne's SeaMiles program receive miles for all flights.
Discounted seats are limited, so early reservations are recommended. To book flights, call 773-6442 or visit the Seaborne Web site.
