PUBLIC IS WELCOME TO VIEW OEDIPUS, THE FILM

Sept. 18, 2002 – A film version of "Oedipus the King," the Sophocles play, will be shown in the AV Room at Antilles Upper School at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.
The film was made as a joint project of the British Broadcasting Corporation and the American Films for the Humanities and Sciences workshop. Michael Pennington plays the role of the ill-fated king, supported by Claire Bloom as Jocasta and John Gielgud as Tiresius the prophet.
Although the showing is offered primarily for the humanities class of Antilles School, the public is invited to join them for the free presentation and, hopefully, a lively discussion to follow, said a release from the school.
