MICHAEL HUGHES WINS 2-MILE BREAST CANCER RACE

Oct. 24, 2002 – Michael Hughes came in first place in the fifth annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer race last Sunday with a time of 11 minutes 27 seconds. David Jones and McCordie Prentice finished second and third respectively.
The two-mile fun run/walk raised funds for the St. Thomas-St. John unit of the American Cancer Society, and was presented by the St. Thomas Association of Roadrunners.
The race course went around the Port of Sale Mall and down the West Indian Co. dock, and awards were given to the top male and female finishers, as well as to first, second and third place finishers in seven age categories.
