Dear Source,
I'm writing to commend The Source on the fine work that you all do. It isn't often that you can read a newspaper from the Virgin Islands that has accurate and precise information concerning news and current events. You obviously take great pride in the level of reporting that you provide to your readers.
One particular article that has been interesting to me is Appeal Arguments Heard in INS Checkpoint Case
As a Virgin Islander, at times I feel as if we are discriminated against and not treated as full American citizens. This belief stems from the fact that in no other jurisdiction under the U.S. flag except for the territories are the residents asked to show proof of citizenship when returning back to the mainland United States. It almost seems as if the U.S. government is saying that it is ok for illegal aliens to enter the Virgin Islands as long as they do not try to come to the mainland. I agree with Judge [Thomas] Moore's ruling and I do hope that the appellate panel of judges upholds the ruling regarding the Immigration and Naturalization Service's action.
Once again, thank you for excellent news reporting.
