V.I. HALF-MARATHON DOUBLES AS WORLD AIDS DAY RUN

Nov. 27, 2002 – The 28th V.I. Half-Marathon-World AIDS Day Run will be held at 6 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, on St. Croix. The race starts and finishes at Columbus Cover/Salt River and runs along the North Shore Road West to Carambola Beach Resort and back.
All participants will get certificates and a special race T-shirt. The entry fee is $20.
Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers and to age-group winners.
In addition, all runners who complete all of "The Run St. Croix" races are eligible to win $1,000. "The Run" includes the already-run Nov. 11 Veterans Day 5K, Sunday's half-marathon, and two January 2003 races: The St. Croix International Marathon on Jan. 1 and the 3Kings Mile on Jan. 4. So St. John and St. Thomas runners and marathoners who've already competed in the Veterans Day 5K may want to make the trip across the water in hopes of pulling down the big prize.
