Senator Louis Patrick Hill congratulates Tim Duncan for his outstanding performance which contributed heavily to the San Antonio Spurs win against the New Jersey Nets in the NBA Finals and to his being named the Most Valuable Player for the regular season league and the Finals.
The Cruzan born forward for the Spurs is considered to be among the greatest basketball athletes ever to play the game with an average in this year’’s Finals of 24.2 points, 17 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 3.3 blocks.
Tim Duncan’’s gifted performances on the court have contributed to National awareness of his native St. Croix and he continues to serve his community through the formation of the Tim Duncan Foundation.
The Foundation funds non-profit organizations in the areas of education, youth sports, health awareness, and research. Over $500,000 has been given in support to non-profit organizations and programs in the Virgin Islands, South Texas, and North Carolina.
Senator Hill sends his gratitude to Tim Duncan for being an inspiring roll model for the youth of the Virgin Islands through his distinguished public service as well as his celebrated performance
